Although the bore size of the Selmer (USA) Grenadilla wood and Resonite clarinets measures the same, the models CL200 deliver a more focused, professional sound based on a wider flare in the top of the upper joint and a more cylindrical bell.

New Schreiber Limited Edition Intermediate Clarinet

For many years, the Buffet student (B10 & B12) and intermediate (E10 & E11) clarinets have been made in Germany by Schreiber. In 2009, Buffet decided to move E11 production to France with the new “E11 France” model. Now, effective August 1, 2010, Buffet has purchased Schreiber-Keilwerth in Germany.

The “Limited Edition” Schreiber is the identical clarinet to the German made Buffet E11. These instruments are in perfect condition and are phenomenal values. Included is the traditional wood-shell case that is identical to what was used on the Buffet E11 with the exception being that it has the Schreiber logo on it.

Features of the Limited Edition Schreiber include Grenadilla wood body, barrel and bell made in Germany, poly-cylindrical bore with undercut tone holes and ergonomic silver plated keys.

Antigua-Backun clarinet starts with premium grade grenadilla wood especially choose with best quality control. Throughout the procedure of turned, bored and machined to exacting tolerances by the most advanced machinery and matured skilled personnel, Backun’s team dedicated their best to make sure the vintage material can emulates the acoustical properties that the professionals demand. These bodies, bells and barrels then carefully hand-finished and inspected by technicians before leaving the Backun facility in Vancouver, Canada.

Normandy clarinets were made by LeBlanc and were considered their entry-level wood clarinet.  They were produced as a high quality intermediate clarinet at a more affordable price point.  This fine Normandy clarinet is a great option for any student looking to move to a step-up clarinet.  This is the original Normandy model and comes with a Grenadilla wood barrel and body and a composite (plastic) bell.  Normandy’s are often designed this way because the plastic bell is more durable than a wood bell, and doesn’t drastically affect the overall sound.  Other features include shared post for G# and A keys, 3 sets of posts for the trill keys, and inline “jump” trill keys.

Selmer combined these factors to produce one of the first commercially successful molded clarinets–the Bundy Resonite. The Resonite was patterned after the famous Selmer (Paris) BT clarinet, used by such great artists as Benny Goodman.
